Ed Bishop works full time as a consulting systems and software engineer, and part time as a researcher in theoretical and experimental particle physics at the CMS experiment of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) project. During LHC down-time, he also works part-time for a private nanotechnology research and development consortium in theoretical and experimental condensed matter physics on nano-scale photonic components (for applications including light-based communications, conventional and quantum computers) and nano-scale plasmonic components (for applications including hybrid electronic/photonic silicon-based computers, third-generation photovoltaic cells and nano-lasers). Ed is also co-editor of hometheaterinfo.com, with his half-brother Doug MacLean, together they have published over 3,000 film and TV reviews syndicated on several sites including rottentomatoes.com and metacritic.com, and get upwards of 1,000,000 visits per month.
